As the stigma of using lube is fading with more sexual wellness brands on the rise creating aesthetically beautiful and approachable products – navigating what lube to buy can be kind of confusing. 1. Less is more when it comes to ingredients
Higher quality lubricants will have 10 ingredients or less. Anything more than that is unnecessary when it comes to finding a safe and high-quality lubricant. It can be tedious to go through every ingredient to ensure you’re not putting anything into your body that you’re not sure is 100% safe for long-term use. So your safest bet is to look for as few ingredients as possible.
2. Fragrance-free + flavorless = Happy genitals
Not all fragrances and flavors are harmful, but there is a lot that can cause irritation or can be toxic for your body if used long-term. Since some lubes will often disguise these ingredients by saying ‘natural flavors’ or ‘fragrance’, you don’t actually know what they are. Your best bet in avoiding potentially harmful ingredients, we suggest sticking with fragrance-free and flavorless lubes.
3. Choose the type of lube based on what you’re going to use it for.
Not all lubes can be used for all applications. If you’re engaging in penetrative sex, we suggest a silicone-based lubricant such as Uberlube. Uberlube only has four ingredients and has proven to be the go-to lube for our customers who often experience irritation during penetration.
